Retrofit Consultancy

Spruce specialises in retrofit consultancy, helping social housing organisations and landlords manage retrofit risks around airtightness, thermal bridging, moisture, energy and comfort. We are able to advise on suitable energy efficiency measures and appropriate products, PAS 2035/2030 processes, retrofit advice around comfort, moisture and energy, on site quality, and monitoring & metering strategies.

Spruce has worked with many housing associations over the last decade to deliver best practice retrofit at scale.

Training and guidance

At Spruce we believe that best practice training and guidance are one of the most effective ways to make a positive difference to our building industry. We help develop and deliver retrofit courses and qualifications for assessors, designers, coordinators and installers. We also work with the training provider Co-action to deliver Passivhaus Contractor and Designer training.

Spruce works with industry and Government organisations to deliver industry guidance on retrofit and Passivhaus.

Passivhaus Consultancy

Passivhaus is a world-leading energy efficiency and comfort standard for buildings. Spruce offers Passivhaus and EnerPHit (Passivhaus retrofit) consultancy services to help you through the Passivhaus process for residential or small commercial projects.

Research & Innovation

At Spruce we value practical research into new products, systems and processes to improve our built environment. We offer technical support for new retrofit products coming onto the market, to ensure they are in line with PAS 2035. We offer thermal and moisture modelling in collaboration with QODA Consulting.

Passivhaus Certification

We provide an independent, Passivhaus (or EnerPHit) Certification quality assurance process for a wide range of residential and small commercial projects.

AECB Standards Certification and Consultancy

The AECB offer a suite of standards that follow the Passivhaus methodology. At Spruce we are able to provide our customers with AECB Carbonlite Retrofit and New Building Consultancy and Certification services. We specialise in the AECB Retrofit Standard (level 2) in residential and commercial buildings.
